Lake has 25,000 acres of uncrowded surface water and 33,000
acres of public land. The water in Stockton Lake is absolutely

development on the lake. There are only three marinas on the
shores and private housing is only at specified distances from the
shoreline. Boat ramps are designated and the natural beauty of the
shoreline is not cluttered by private home and docks.

contribute to the beauty of this jewel of a lake with limestone bluffs,
massive cedar trees and natural places for fish to spawn. There is
an abundance of fish here, tiger muskie, crappie, blue gill, channel
cat, white bass, walleye and black bass. The streams leading into
the lake are natural hiding places to test the fishing skills of every
sportsman. There are almost three hundred miles of shoreline to
make the wildlife a challenge to hunt. With more than 20,000 acres
of public hunting, the Stockton Lake are has an abundance of big
deer and some of the best wild turkey hunting you will find
anywhere in the state. A hiker may spy deer, raccoon, possum,
quail, dove, squirrel, rabbit, turkey, ducks, geese and the elusive
eagle.

This deep-water lake is used for scuba diving because it is so
clear. This is the number one sailing lake in the state of Missouri
because of the prevailing winds. The Stockton Lake Yacht Club
has a very active racing and social season with several events
each month from April to October. Swimming is great with six
sandy beaches in the park areas. Boating of all kinds make this a
haven for water enthusiast.

Stockton Lake is an excellent choice to escape the hustle of city life
and most of all it's centrally located. Four major highways surround
it. Kansas City is only 135 miles northwest, and St. Louis 270 miles
northeast. Springfield is a one-hour drive south, and is home to the
Bass Pro Shop, one of Missouri's most visited attractions. If you

half away and has more live entertainment theaters than anywhere
